Partnership AIPP and Second Home Expo

To ensure a safe and positive experience for buyers, exhibitors, and advertisers, we work closely with AIPP (Association of International Property Professionals). If a buyer complaint cannot be resolved directly with an exhibitor or advertiser, it may be referred to AIPP and their independent Property Ombudsman ADR* service for professional resolution. (*ADR = Alternative Dispute Resolution). By offering this service, we aim to build trust and encourage more buyers to engage through our channels. While AIPP membership is not mandatory, not being part of the scheme may affect buyer confidence. If a complaint is upheld through the ADR process, we reserve the right to review—and potentially end—our commercial relationship with the company.

Free annual membership

We have decided to offer our exhibitors and advertisers a free annual membership of AIPP, subject to completing AIPP’s online application process. The costs of this membership will be paid-for by Second Home Expo. This offer is open until 31st July 2025 and is for a 12-month AIPP membership. For those joining AIPP in this manner, you will be asked in month 11 if you want to continue into a 2nd year of AIPP membership which will be at your own cost. You are under no obligation to remain a member of AIPP for a 2nd year. This offer is open only to non-members of AIPP, if you are already a member of AIPP you may not participate in this offer.

Applicability of the AIPP Property Ombudsman ADR scheme

The AIPP Property Ombudsman ADR scheme includes only those companies who directly sell properties; agents and property developers. It does not include those ancillary companies who provide enabling services such as lawyers, banks, furniture providers etc. These companies either have their own regulator / ombudsman, to whom buyers may make a complaint directly or, if not, buyers may contact Second Home directly to raise any complaint.

AIPP ADR scheme under EU law

AIPP Property Ombudsman service currently provides dispute resolution across Europe in accordance with the EU Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Directive which came into effect 1st October 2015. The scheme operates under the international standard of the English language and all complaints about AIPP members must be submitted in English and will be responded to in English.
